The wait is over. Brighton’s electronic originals Joe Average return on July 8, 2025 with Panic Buttons, a brand-new single credited as Joe Average feat Mad Mick (1990 Infinity) + FABER. It’s their first official release since the early ’90s, and it lands with the confidence of a group that knows exactly where the pulse lives.

Their story reads like fate meddling with the faders. Once fixtures at London institutions like Hammersmith Palais and the Hippodrome, the trio—Rich, Mad Mick, and Prof—were early sparks in the UK rave surge. Mad Mick’s sax line helped drive Josh’s Infinity into underground legend. Then, decades later, on Friday the 13th of October 2023—34 years to the day since their last gig—Rich and Mick crossed paths again. A wild lead sent Rich to a church in northeast London, where Prof appeared in the same rave top he wore in ’89. The band was suddenly, unmistakably, back.

Panic Buttons snaps that lightning into a single. Produced by Rich, it pairs live drums with Mick’s unmistakable sax and Prof’s melodic undertow, while rising voice Faber cuts through with raw soul and bite. It’s old-school rave DNA recharged for now—tense, radiant, and built to move.

For Rich, who stepped away from drums after a serious motorcycle accident before building a global motorcycle exhaust brand and even his own house, this record is a homecoming. Not a reunion. A rebirth.
