Shyfrin Alliance Issues Austere New Statement with “In the Shadow of Time”

On 9 May 2025, Shyfrin Alliance will release In the Shadow of Time, the lead single and title track from its forthcoming second album, across all major platforms. The work presents itself less as a conventional song than as a considered thesis: a blues-rock construction of weight and clarity that interrogates the forces we feel but cannot name.

True to the project’s Kabbalah-inflected credo—Music of the Mystic, Mystics of the Music—the composition positions time not as a character but as a screen. Behind it, the song proposes, lies an obscured agency that modulates our days in ways both subtle and inexorable. “I want to know who is there – in the shadow of time,” intones Eduard Shyfrin, his bass-baritone carrying a judicial gravity. The lyric’s injunction to rise above Good & Evil seeks an elevated vantage, a vantage from which the contour of that hidden presence might be perceived.

The recording is sculpted with deliberate intensity. Thunderous percussion and a commanding vocal line frame an arrangement that moves with tidal inevitability—compressing emotion to a Black Hole of feeling before restoring motion with the swing of a Pendulum. Tracked in Paris with top-tier French rock musicians, the performance is both monumental and articulate, a textural palimpsest in which each line serves the central inquiry.

In the Shadow of Time extends the trajectory set by the debut album Upside Down Blues and the acclaimed single Buddha Blues, but it sharpens the lens. Informed by abstract expressionist aesthetics and philosophical investigation, the piece offers a meditation that is at once urgent and restrained—a formal attempt to sound the depths of an invisible architecture governing human experience.

Eduard Shyfrin—Ukrainian-born, classically trained pianist, businessman, and bestselling author—integrates sustained study of science and Kabbalah into a unified creative program. “The nature of time is the greatest mystery,” he observes. “We don’t know what it is, we cannot define it – but we feel its force.
