Chill Out with Martin Callingham’s Treehouse

Martin Callingham, the talented chamber folk artist based in Bristol, is set to release his highly anticipated album Patterns on May 24th via Undergrowth Records. Ahead of the full album launch, Callingham is also releasing the lead single Treehouse on March 22nd, accompanied by a stunning animated music video. 

Treehouse is a mesmerising acoustic track, showcasing Callingham’s soulful vocals and delicate guitar playing. The song builds gradually, incorporating layers of folk instrumentation to create a nostalgic and playful atmosphere. The accompanying music video, created by Martyna Sikonczyk, adds another layer of magic to the single’s release. Its charming animated visuals transport viewers back to their carefree childhood days, playing in a treehouse and getting lost in their imaginations. 

The ten-track album Patterns is the long-awaited follow-up to Callingham’s 2015 EP Tonight We All Swim Free. The album sees the artist delve deeper into his signature chamber folk style, which has captivated the attention of critics and BBC 6 Music on his previous releases. From the mesmerizing harmonies of Ninetree Hill to the dreamy composition of A Toe On The Water and the intricate guitar work on the title track Patterns, the album is a refreshing antidote to the chaos of modern life. Each track on the album is accompanied by an illustration created by Lyndsie Barnard. Barnard’s beautiful artworks capture the essence of Callingham’s music, drawing inspiration from nature and showcasing both intimacy and grandeur. 

Patterns was primarily recorded and mixed by renowned producer Jim Barr of Portishead and Get The Blessing. With its unique sound and captivating visuals, Treehouse is set to be a hit with industry professionals.
