DIY Mastermind Patrick Doval Shreds in New Collaboration with The Offspring Drummer

Miami rocker Patrick Doval is back with a vengeance in the new year, teaming up with ex-The Offspring drummer Pete Parada for his latest single, “Back Home”, set to release on January 22nd, 2024. This is the second collaboration between Doval and Parada, following their 2022 release “Soulless Machine”. 

The single received high praise, with Rock Mag Magazine dubbing Patrick a “DIY mastermind” and Enter the Venture comparing his visual style to the likes of David Bowie. The accompanying music video for “Back Home” is set to release earlier on January 12th, and is bound to impress fans of Doval’s unique style. Known for his heavy use of effects and animation, the video will feature both Doval and Parada, with Doval as a wandering musician who ultimately destroys their guitar. Musically, “Back Home” carries the prog/punk torch into a new generation. 

Patrick’s killer vocals and riffs harken back to the golden age of rock in the 70s and 80s, but with all the high-fidelity production that modern technology has to offer. Fans who have longed for the days of thrashy solos and proper drums in their music will find a welcome return in “Back Home”. But behind the audio and visual spectacle lies a deeper story. Doval found himself swearing off music after the tragic passing of his best friend and fellow musician, Jesse Groo. 

However, in creating a compilation CD of their old recordings for Groo’s family, Doval rediscovered his passion for music and the studio. With “Back Home” and all of his new and old songs, Doval hopes to honor the memory of his friend and continue their musical legacy. “Back Home” will be available on all streaming platforms on January 22nd, 2024.
