Rock Music Legends Inspire John Fishell’s New Album

John Fishell has done it again. The multi-talented artist from Alexandria, Virginia has released a live album called We’ve Got a Live One, featuring 45 minutes of original music and two covers. Recorded in June 2022 at the Wreckingroom Studio in Lyons, Colorado, the album was released in January 2023 and is available on most streaming platforms.

Fishell’s music is an energetic mix of influences from Foo Fighters, Stone Temple Pilots, AC/DC, Queen, Led Zeppelin, and even Beatles, The Who, and classic 70s, 80s, and 90s rock. His unique singing voice, clever and compact song construction, and eclectic nuggets provide hidden treasures to discover.

The album also features a solid rhythm section of veterans Brian McRae on drums and Mario Pagliarulo on bass, giving Fishell the platform and freedom to deliver a thrilling and heartfelt performance. Fans of classic rock will especially enjoy the interesting “dance” version of AC/DC’s Hell’s Bells, smooth Rush-like time signature shifts in the song Here’s Looking at You, a Gary Glitter “stadium shout” gem in God Save the Queen, and the radio-friendly Pushing and Pulling.

In addition to the album, Fishell is an accomplished recording engineer, producer, and educator. His commitment to creating top quality music with a rock edge is evident in the success of We’ve Got a Live One. With this new album, Fishell proves once again that mainstream rock is still kicking, punching, and breathing.
