The Elusive Winchester 7 Release New Single ‘When The World Stops Spinning’
Leathered in fuzz, driving drums and swaggering vocals. Winchester 7 deliver the new single ‘When The World Stops Spinning’ in a quintessentially British fashion, and in alignment with a personal love for Paul McCartney, 60s & 70s psychedelic rock and a vivid imagination.
Contrary to what the name might suggest, the Winchester 7 are a solo-led project by lead singer ‘Win’, playing all three roles of the band through a myriad of disguises and accents – I challenge you to find a band with ‘7’ in the name, that’s a 3 piece, that’s all played by 1 person.
Now if, unlike mine, your brain isn’t rattled with numbers, then we’ll get back to the music. ‘When The World Stops Spinning’ is a featured track from the band’s(?) latest EP, ‘Argos Holiday’. The vocal delivery is playful and reminiscent of a track that could have been on the White Album: the guitars are busy, the drums are energetic and it’s an impressive feat for a solo project. Or not so solo? I’m not going to try and wrap my head around it again.
