Alt-Blues Diva, Rasha Jay, Brings Soul to Modern Rock

*Drum Roll* Please welcome this week’s Indie Crush of the Week – Rasha Jay. Billed as ‘bringing soul to modern rock’ we were immediately taken with her music – and promptly set about arguing whether she was indie enough to be our indie crush (it’s an issue close to our hearts!)

What we could agree on is that her sound reminded us somehow of Blood Orange (and that’s surely one of the biggest compliments you can pay to a current artist!). Original and experimental in her songwriting and production – almost indie, always soulful, but probably best described as alt-blues – she has won our musically inclined hearts.
